Why source from Amazon

Amazon is your research edge, not just a shelf.

Amazon is one of the largest marketplaces in the world, with a huge catalog, visible customer demand signals, and competitive pricing across many categories. Use it to find proven products, then prepare cleaner listings for your own store.

01

Product research

Spot products customers already understand and want. Ratings, review counts, and bundles show what is selling before you commit to a niche.

02

Price benchmarking

Compare Amazon retail prices against supplier costs to judge whether a product has the margin to be worth testing.

03

Affiliate-style pages

Curate collections of products you love and link out the Amazon Associates way, a content model that needs no fulfillment of your own.

04

Supplier replacement

Validate a product on Amazon, then source it from a supplier or manufacturer that gives you the rights, margins, packaging, and fulfillment you need.

Important: Amazon's rules

Is dropshipping from Amazon allowed?

Yes, dropshipping is allowed, but it has strict conditions, and the naive "buy it on Amazon, let Amazon ship it to my customer" approach is not one of them. Here is what Amazon says, in its own words.

"Dropshipping is a way of selling products without handling inventory, storage, or shipping. Instead, you work with one or more third-party suppliers who ship products directly to customers on your behalf." Amazon, What is dropshipping?
"According to Amazon's Drop Shipping Policy, you can generally use a dropshipping service to sell products, as long as you're the seller of record." Amazon, What is dropshipping?

Being the seller of record means you own the product before the customer buys it, you set the price, and you handle returns and support. Amazon's Drop Shipping Policy then spells out what that looks like in practice.

Amazon says you must always

  • Be the seller of record of your products
  • Identify yourself as the seller on all packing slips, invoices, and packaging
  • Remove anything identifying a third-party drop shipper before shipping
  • Accept and process customer returns yourself
  • Comply with your seller agreement and all Amazon policies

Amazon does not permit

  • Buying from another online retailer and having that retailer ship directly to your customer
  • Shipping with packing slips, invoices, or packaging that show a seller name other than yours

Source: Amazon's Drop Shipping Policy and its What is dropshipping? guide. This page is a plain-English summary, not legal advice. Always read Amazon's official policy and confirm your own workflow complies.

Where Importify fits. Because reselling another retailer's shipment is off-limits, Importify treats Amazon as a place to research demand and prepare listings, not a warehouse to ship from. Import the product data, study the market, then source the product from your own supplier so you stay the seller of record. Importify imports data and helps you prepare listings. It does not make a product legal to sell, grant image rights, or manage Amazon seller compliance for you.

Before you publish

Before you publish an Amazon listing.

A short, honest checklist so your store stays compliant and your customers stay happy.

Confirm image rights

Use product images only if you have the right to use them. Replace anything you do not own with supplier-approved, licensed, or original photos.

Rewrite in your voice

Rewrite the title and description in your own store voice so the listing is original, not a copy of Amazon's.

Strip Amazon-specific text

Remove Amazon seller names, delivery promises, badges, reviews, and marketplace-specific wording.

Confirm reliable fulfillment

Make sure you can source and ship the product reliably before you put ad spend behind it.

Price for real costs

Set a price that covers product cost, shipping, returns, payment fees, and support.

Check for restrictions

Confirm the product is not restricted, branded, counterfeit-risk, or regulated in your market.

One more: make sure your store is the seller of record for the customer, so the buying experience is clearly yours. Need a supplier? Browse the Importify supplier directory.

Amazon import FAQ

Importing Amazon products, answered.

Yes, with conditions. Amazon says you can use a dropshipping service to sell products as long as you are the seller of record. What its Drop Shipping Policy does not allow is buying from another online retailer and having that retailer ship directly to your customer. So Amazon works best as a research and listing-prep source, while you source and fulfill through your own supplier. See Amazon's official Drop Shipping Policy for the full rules.
Yes. Importify supports Amazon importing on the Premium and Gold plans. You can import product data, review the listing, edit the content, and publish it to a connected store.
Only if you are the seller of record. Amazon's Drop Shipping Policy specifically does not permit buying a product from another online retailer and having that retailer ship it directly to your customer, which is the naive Amazon-to-store approach. The compliant path is to use Amazon for research and listing prep, then source the product from your own supplier so you are the seller of record, with your name on every invoice and package.
No. Importify's automated order fulfillment is for AliExpress only, on the Gold plan. For Amazon, Importify helps import and prepare listings, while fulfillment, returns, and customer support remain your responsibility.
Only if you have the right to use them. Importify can help bring product data into your workflow, but it does not grant image rights. Replace images when needed with supplier-approved, licensed, or original images.
Yes, if your site follows Amazon Associates rules. Affiliate workflows are different from dropshipping workflows, so make sure links, prices, images, and disclosures comply with the Amazon Associates operating agreement.
Yes. Many merchants use Amazon for research and product validation, then source from a supplier with better margins, packaging, or fulfillment terms. Importify helps you prepare the listing before publishing, but supplier selection remains your responsibility.
